Introduction

In 2003, Vauxhall celebrated its first 100 years by organising the Centenary 1000 Mile Trial which brought together Vauxhall owners from all over the world. Out of this event was born the annual VBOA International Meeting which has taken place in Denmark, Holland, Sweden, Switzerland and Australia. In May 2009 the event comes to the UK for the first time.

Following the well proven European formula, it will take place over three nights from Friday to Sunday, May 29, 30 and 31st 2009. The venue is a well situated and appointed campus style 4-star hotel and conference centre called Wyboston Lakes. Just off the central A1 Great North Road and midway between Bedford and Cambridge it is well placed for UK and port access. The site offers secure parking and leisure facilities including a dip pool and gymnasium.

The all en-suite accommodation will have been completely refurbished by the time of our visit and head chef Fergus Martin and his staff have recently added five medals at the world renowned Hotelympia "Salon Culinaire" awards to their already impressive portfolio.

A welcoming cup of tea or coffee will greet participants on the Friday and in the evening we will enjoy a barbeque in the hotel garden. On Saturday there will be a road run in the English countryside including the opportunity to drive your car around the awesome GM Proving Ground at Millbrook and a visit to the Vauxhall Heritage Centre at the Luton home of Vauxhall. In the evening we will be invited to join "Mr Griffin", Fulk le Breant, and his lady at a fun medieval banquet. On Sunday we will visit the world renowned collection of military aircraft and vehicles at the Imperial War Museum Duxford and that evening will see us enjoying a farewell dinner. Departure will be after breakfast on Monday June 1st.

Any model of Vauxhall, Opel or Bedford is invited to join the event. The attached itinerary, tariff and entry form should give you all the information you require, but if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact chairman@vboa.org.uk or call on 07812 525164.

Entries close on January 15th 2009 and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Keep in touch with the event and entries at this vboa.org.uk website.

The VBOA looks forward to welcoming you to Wyboston next May.
